Oct 2024 BTO: Which Standard, Plus, or Prime Project Is the Best For You?

The October 2024 BTO launch has officially kicked off, and it’s turning out to be one of the biggest exercises yet. With 8,573 flats spread across 15 projects in nine HDB towns, the Oct 2024 BTO launch marks a major milestone: This is the first launch featuring the new Standard, Plus, and Prime housing model for HDB BTO flats.

  • Prime Flats are in highly desirable locations with extensive amenities. In this exercise, Crawford Heights in Kallang/Whampoa is the only Prime project, offering 312 flats. It is close to Lavender MRT, Rochor River, and Kallang Riverside Park, making it ideal for those seeking connectivity and scenic living​​.
  • Plus Flats are also in attractive locations but slightly less central compared to Prime flats. Seven projects fall under this category, including Bayshore Vista and Bayshore Palms in Bedok, which offer sea views from higher floors. Other Plus projects include Kallang View and Central Trio in Ang Mo Kio​​.
  • Standard Flats are found in towns such as Bukit Batok, Jurong West, and Sengkang, offering a more budget-friendly option while still having access to essential amenities​.

October BTO 2024 Project Breakdown

Prime BTO: Crawford Heights – Kallang/Whampoa (1/3)

  • 10-year MOP
  • 9% subsidy clawback
  • Pilot for white flat layouts
  • 4-year waiting period

Crawford Heights is the only Prime project in the October 2024 BTO exercise. It falls under the Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) model, so it comes with a 10-year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) and a 9% subsidy clawback. The clawback means: when you sell your flat, you’ll need to return 9% of the resale or valuation price (whichever is higher) to HDB.

This Prime BTO will also be the pilot site for the new White flat layout. If you prefer an open-concept with greater flexibility in configuring your living spaces, you can opt for a contiguous living and bedroom space without pre-partitioned walls. This option will be priced accordingly, taking into account the non-provision of internal partition walls. Alternatively, you can choose the standard layout with walls if the open-concept is not your preference.
